Hvidovre is the centre for events when it comes to sports on ice in Denmark.
Frihedens Idrætscenter (Frihedens Sports Center) was renovated to the highest standard during the summer 2007. Housing two ice hockey rinks and one curling rink, the facilities are certainly up to staging a tournament to international standards.
Frihedens Idrætscenter is also the home base of Hvidovre Curling Club, some of whose members represented Denmark at the European championship and the World championship.
