Amager Strand (Amager Beach) is situated on Amager, the eastern part of Copenhagen. 

Amager is actually a small island but is connected to Copenhagen by several bridges. Amager Strand is a beautiful, man-made beach which was created in 2005.

The beach is very close to downtown Copenhagen, and buzzes with life in the summertime. Local people come here to take part in a variety of activities, such as sunbathing, open water swimming, diving, beach volleyball, skating, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, kite surfing, kayak polo, street basketball, beach soccer, ultimate, running and surfing.

How to get there

Transportation from downtown to Amager Strand: 10 minutes by metro.
