The Tennis tournament welcomes not only skilled players but also those with much less experience. The most important thing is that you love the atmosphere of a clay tennis court and are enthusiastic about the mental and technical challenges of the game.
The Tennis tournament will be held on 29 clay courts at the famous and historic Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB), a centre for tennis since 1883.
World Outgames 2009 will collaborate with Pan tennis, a tennis association in the LGBT community, in hosting this event. Pantennis, founded two years ago and now with approx. 30 members, is eager to welcome all those with an interest in the game - regardless of level - and offers a variety of social events. In the summer of 2008, Pantennis hosted a succesfull tournament on the GLTA tour. Furthermore Hein jan Lapidaire - Ranking Director at GLTA will be our co-organizer at the planning of the tournament.
A social event on Saturday the 25th of July 2009 at 12.00 is included in the registration fee for tennis participation. We will offer you a drink and snack at the venue on Pile Allé 14, 2000 Frederiksberg. Don’t miss the opportunity to have a laugh and meet all the other participants.
Former Danish WTA-tour player Tine Scheuer Larsen
, and a present commentator on Eurosport, will be opening the tournament.
