Dancing

We welcome dancers from all over the world to the Outgames dance competitions, taking place in Copenhagen Monday July 27- Friday July 31 2009.

The Outgames dance competitions, hosted by PanDans will be the WORLD’S LARGEST DANCE COMPETITION IN A GAY AND LESBIAN CONTEXT with a 5 day schedule, over 500 dancers and 18 planned disciplines to take part in.

The combination of sportsmanship, beauty, flow and rhythm in the dance competitions makes for a fantastic event for spectators, who will also be invited to the floor for social dancing during the five days of tournament.

Dancing competitions in the context of the gay and lesbian community have been hugely popular since their inception both because of their traditional qualities of dancing, and because these competitions invite dancers to define their dance styles and roles as leaders and followers according to temper and taste.

The dancing competitions are arranged in cooperation with PanDans, who hosted the dance competitions at the EuroGames in 2003, and the hugely successful Nordic Open same-sex dance competitions in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Again, we offer the central venue of DGI-byen with its great facilities.

Ballroom party

A spectacular White Nights ballroom party on Friday 31st of July is included in the registration fee for dancing. A limited number of tickets are reserved for non-competing dance enthusiasts and will be for sale for the price of 15 euros at the information desk in the Competition hall in DGI-byen during the competitions.

Information on Competition, ScheduleRules and Venue is to be found on the next pages.
