A Taste of Denmark Walking Tour

Minimum Participants:

Minimum 15 participants are required for this tour to operate. If you have paid for the tour and it could not be materialized, an email will be sent to you before 15 July 2009 and full payment will be refunded.

Maximum Participants: Maximum 20 participants per group.

This special interest tour is an introduction to both Copenhagen and to the gastronomic world of Danish products and specialties. A walking tour with experiences for both your eyes and tongue which begins at the King's New Square.

You will walk through the Royal Palace and the beautiful Marble Church on your way to the King’s Street to check out the list of famous open sandwiches. A stop will be made in front of sausage strand to taste local people’s favourite night snack, red sausage.

You will also pass by the Copenhagen house of the delicious Summberbird chocolate and pastries before heading to the Butcher’s shop to taste "frikadelle," a small Danish meatball. You will also pass by the traditional and elegant Conditori La Glace. During the walking tour, you will also have a shot of “snaps” (strong Scandinavian spirits) and Danish liquorice. Depends on the plan of the route, the tour will be stopped in one of the Outgames Village's beer stands or the city centre.

Please note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 2.5 miles (2.5 hours) over cobblestones and uneven surfaces. Low heeled, comfortable walking shoes and comfortable, loose clothing are recommended. This tour will go ahead regardless of weather conditions so participants should take appropriate gear with them.




Guests should be aware that this is not a lunch tour but a sample tasting tour.
