
Georgina Beyer (born 1957 in Wellington, New Zealand) is the first transsexual in the world to be elected as Mayor and elected for Parliament. She was elected Mayor in 1995 and re-elected in 1998. She was elected Member of Parliament in 1999 and re-elected in 2002. She resigned from Parliament in February 2007.
Georgina is looking forward to speak at the World Outgames Conference and emphasise ‘the love of freedom – freedom to love’ headline. Georgina says: “The freedoms some of us enjoy are yet to be realized for many. We must convince Governments who have not yet made significant progress toward addressing LGBT Human Rights, in their countries, to STOP DRAGGING THE CHAIN !!!! We of the LGBT community must show Leadership!! Pool our collective experience and resource to offer practical pathways that can change lives and enrich nations”.
